Mexico City, November 4, 2025 – With great excitement and pride, we announce our exclusive partnership with Walmart de México, a historic step that changes the rules and opens a new chapter for millions of people across the country.
From now on, those shopping online at Walmart, Bodega Aurrera, and Sam’s Club will be able to pay in installments—without a credit card—directly through Cashi, Walmart’s digital payment app.
And that’s not all. At APLAZO, we’re launching this alliance with 1.5 million pre-approved credit lines. That means millions of people in Mexico already have immediate access to a new way to pay: more flexible, more fair, and more connected to their everyday needs.
"Today, people who apply for credit through APLAZO get a response within minutes. That means the vast majority can already buy what they need and pay for it in comfortable biweekly installments."
"And it's not just us saying it; the app is rated 4.9 stars. In other words, 9 out of 10 people recommend paying with APLAZO,” said Alexander Wieland, CRO and co-founder of APLAZO.
Transparent, digital, and hassle-free credit
Mexico faces a tough reality: only 11% of adults have a credit card. Traditional credit has left a huge part of the population behind. At APLAZO, we set out to change that from day one, and this partnership with Walmart de México is proof of that mission.
Today, 70% of APLAZO users have no other financial product, and 40% have no credit history. For all of them, this integration means their first access to credit—right from their phone, in less than five minutes, with full transparency and no hidden fees.
Shop from home, choose how many installments you want, and know exactly how much you’ll pay. That easy, that clear—that’s APLAZO.
This alliance is much more than a tech integration. It’s the union of two brands that share a deep vision of what true credit inclusion means.
“In Mexico, we should make access to simple, transparent, and fair payment solutions easier. Both Walmart and APLAZO share a common vision: credit shouldn’t be for the few, it should be for the many,” said Ángel Peña, CEO and co-founder of APLAZO.
Both voices reflect the heart of this alliance: a shared commitment to changing the reality of credit in Mexico. From different angles, APLAZO and Walmart are moving toward the same goal: making credit clear, fair, and truly accessible for those who have always been left out.
“Together with APLAZO, we’re driving new ways to shop—helping families save money and live better,” emphasized Santiago Benvenuto, Head of Financial Solutions for Walmart de México and Central America.
A strong step toward the future of digital financing
At APLAZO, we say it clearly: we’re not here to do more of the same. We’re here to prove that credit can be accessible, responsible, and tailored to people’s real lives.
This is a reflection of the path we’re building—one where everyone has the right to buy what they need without relying on a credit card. A path where credit becomes a tool for inclusion, not an obstacle.
An exclusive alliance so more people in Mexico can access low prices and flexible credit every day.
